Long lines, fees, delays, and trusting airlines with your belongings can all play a part. Travel protection is a great way to alleviate some of the angst associated with the uncertainties of travel. Specifically, baggage protection in all of the TripAssure plans protects your belongings during your trip so you don’t have to do what this man did.

The Washington Post reported that a man tried to board a British Airways plane wearing all of the clothing he packed. The 10 shirts, 8 pairs of pants and multiple sweaters were worn in an effort to avoid checking the luggage and paying a fee. He was ultimately not allowed on the flight, though the reason cited was the passenger’s rude behavior.

Checking your luggage with an airline should not be a cause of concern for travelers. All TripAssure plans include baggage protection benefits to guard against the unknown happening to your belongings. For example, if you arrive at your destination, but your luggage does not, Baggage Delay benefits can help. Once you have been without your bags for 12 hours, you may be reimbursed for the cost of essential items, up to the limit of the plan. This can include change of clothes, toiletries, makeup, etc.

Having baggage delayed is bad, but what if the airline loses your luggage and never finds it? The Baggage & Personal Effects benefit can help you recoup your loss. If your belongings are permanently lost, damaged, or stolen during your trip, you may be reimbursed for those items, up to the limits within the plan.

TripAssure always hopes you travel well, without any incident, and we are happy to offer you baggage protection in our plans. On your next trip, confidently check your bags with the airline and you only have to wear one outfit at a time.

This information is meant to be a summary.
